Randy Grim, founder of Stray Rescue of St. Louis, and one of our bright stars of the St. Louis Blues hockey team, Alex Steen, announced on February 10, 2013, that the Left Wing and Assistant Captain, was voted onto the board of Stray Rescue of St.Louis.
In 1998, Randy Grim created the nonprofit group, Stray Rescue, with a goal of saving as many stray dogs in the St. Louis area, as possible, so they may be restored to health and placed in a loving and forever adoptive home. Often times the animals that are rescues are lost, abandoned, abused and in need of serious love and attention. Stray Rescue has grown since 1998 and now includes a large number of volunteers and workers, a no-kill shelter to house the strays until they are ready for adoption, and a formable reputation throughout St. Louis.
Alex Steen, along with fellow St. Louis Blues teammate, Barrett Jackman (Founder of Barret’s Buddies), Defensemen and Assistant Captain, have actively participated in past events together with Stray Rescue to help bring awareness and recognition to not only the organization, but also to animal abuse. Stray Rescue strives to make St. Louis a zero tolerance city for animal abuse.
Adding Alex Steen to the board of Stray Rescue can only prove to be a positive and compelling decision by the board and organization. We look forward to learning more about any fresh ideas that Alex may bring to the table within his new position.
