There are not many places in the US that you can travel to and breathe the name Stan The Man Musial and not find someone who knows the Hall of Fame Cardinal Outfielder. Cardinal Nation was not the only one who this week mourn the passing of Stan Musial. The Blues organization has long been supporters of the St. Louis Cardinals, and this morning placed an ad in the Post-Dispatch that was not only classy but showed just how much sports in this city are tied together. When the Cardinals are playing you can bet there will be support from the Blues and vice versa. On many occasions you can see Cardinals players sitting in the stands at Scottrade Center taking in the night’s festivities. It only seemed fitting that the Blues show their respect to not only one of the best baseball players to grace the field but to a man who was undoubtedly one of the kindest natured humans to ever live. Stan was one of those guys who never had a bad day. If Stan was in a bad mood or having an off day, you would never know according to team mates such as Red Schoendienst who spoke fondly of Stan in a recent interview at the Cards Winter Warm Up, which turned into an impromptu Stan Musial Memorial. There is something to be said of a man who can remain faithful to his wife for over 70 years and who won a presidential medal of freedom. Baseball’s Perfect Knight, The Ambassador of St. Louis sports Stanisław Franciszek Musiał November 21st, 1920- January 19th 2013. Rest In Peace Stan, we will all miss you dearly!
