Warmups from a 2011-12 Preseason Game vs. Minnesota
-
On Wednesday afternoon the NHL made the following announcement through it’s own site and of all 30 teams.
NEW YORK – The National Hockey League announced today the cancellation of the 2012 preseason schedule through Sept. 30.
The cancellation of the schedule was necessary because of the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players’ Association and the NHL.
This will cost the St. Louis Blues at least five games. The earliest game that would be played now would be the October 2nd matchup against Nashville Predators in St. Louis. Only a home and home set against the Dallas Stars would remain prior to the scheduled start of the 2012-13 season.
Game one the 82 game NHL regular season is tentatively set for October 11th vs. Colorado on the NBC Sports Network.
Many Blues players who were not assigned to AHL affiliate Peoria or have jumped ship to Europe are skating locally in sessions that are closed to the public.
