In a move that doesn’t likely shock many, but still sends shockwaves nonetheless, the St. Louis Blues‘ top prospect is heading home to play during the NHL lockout.
Vladimir Tarasenko has (reportedly) signed with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL. He will join another exiled sniper, Ilya Kovalchuk of the New Jersey Devils.
The Blues hoped that Tarasenko would stay in North America and play with their AHL affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen, to get acclimated with the smaller rink size and new style of game he is coming in to.
