On August 30th, the St. Louis Blues announced that they have switched their East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) affiliation from the Alasaka Aces to the Evansville IceMen.
The IceMen, a fresh addition to the ECHL family, has spent the last few seasons in the Central Hockey Leauge (CHL). Though the franchise started in the AAHL they moved up to the CHL when the Muskegon Fury francise was purchased by the current owner, Ron Geary, and converted the “old” Michigan based team in to the “new” IceMen.
More IceMen hockey history can be found here.
The IceMen are also the ECHL affiliate for one of the Blues’ fiercest Central Division rivals, the Columbus Blue Jackets.
BNZ hopes to bring coverage of the IceMen throughout the season.
