Minor hockey franchises in general do come up with some wild promotions and marketing campaigns. However, credit should be given when credit is due. The Peoria Rivermen, the St. Louis Blues‘ AHL affiliate came up with a good one earlier this summer when they encouraged their fans to create a special sweater to be worn once in the upcoming season.
The winner was recently announced and is pictured above.
A pretty slick creation from Ryan Malaschak. The 32 year old is a long time Blues fan and owner of the Belleville, IL business, Adrenaline Prints.
According to the Rivermen over 100 submissions were received
The sweaters will be worn on December 15th home game against the Milwaukee Admirals and will be auction off after the game. Considering the AHL could be the highest level of hockey played in North American this year, plan the road trip now.
