With yet another lookout looming the St. Louis Blues, like the other 29 NHL teams, are preparing for the dark days ahead. Today they sent 24 players to the Peoria Rivermen who will be able to escape to play in the AHL.

The following three prospects have been returned to their Junior clubs:
- Goalie Jordan Binnington (Owen Sound, OHL)
- Defenseman Jani Hakanpaa (Espoo, Finland)
- Forward Ty Rattie (Portland, WHL)
Most of those named were destined for the Rivermen lineup anyways. The “potential” (cough eventual cough) lockout didn’t change much for 22 of them. However, the addition of Cole and Tarasenko (assuming he picks the AHL over the KHL) likely bumps someone on a minor league deal down to the new ECHL affiliate, the Evansville IceMen.
With Peoria about 3 hours away and Evansville around 150 miles to the East on 64, sounds like blue bleeders will be planning many road trips.
