An Impromptu Rivermen Report
You know it’s a slow hockey news day when you’re reporting on staff hirings, but hey, everyone plays a role in a team’s success.
Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today the club added athletic trainer Dustin Flynn to its staff. Flynn replaces Chris Palmer who has joined the St. Louis Blues as an assistant athletic trainer.
Flynn, 29, comes to Peoria after spending one season with the ECHL Florida Everblades. Prior to joining the Everblades, he spent three years as an assistant athletic trainer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Keeping the likes of Phil McRae, Adam Cracknell, Cade Fairchild, and Jake Allen healthy is important for when they’re recalled to the mothership. Hopefully Peoria brought in a good trainer.
St. Louis Blues Chairman Tom Stillman will make an appearance at this summer’s Rivermen Season Ticket holder party on July 26th.
I know some Rivs fans were concerned with the change over down in St. Louis, but this appears to be the first public step towards the new ownership group staying involved in their “other franchise”.
COO Bruce Affleck will attend as well.
