Pick the Goal Scorer: February 12 vs Sharks (Game Preview Included)

Last night we had a few readers who guessed correctly in the Pick the Goal Scorer Contest! David Perron scored first (and second!) for the 010712-blues-018Blues last night at Scottrade.  Who will draw first blood tonight?  Give us your best guess!  Remember, you just need to comment on this post to be entered into the contest; the person with the most correct guesses at the end of the season will win a Blues themed prize (prize still TBD).

The Blues continue their back-to-back weekend at home tonight against the San Jose Sharks.  This morning, the Blues announced that forward Andy McDonald has been activated off Injured Reserve and will play tonight.  This is McDonald’s first game since suffering a concussion on October 13 (for more on his return see today’s BNZ post).  Blues forward Matt D’Agostini has been placed on Injured Reserve, apparently with a concussion, after suffering a hit to the head on Thursday.  Foward Alex Steen is also still suffering from concussion symptoms, and defenseman Kent Huskins is still not ready to make his return.  Jason Arnott skated today, but he is not ready to get back into action quite yet.  Defenseman Kris Russell will be back in the line up tonight after missing last night’s game with a bout of the flu.  Look for Jaroslav Halak to start in net for the Blues tonight (per Lou Korac).

The Sharks are kicking off a 9 game road trip tonight in St. Louis.  They won their last game, on Friday, and had yesterday off.

I'm a stay at home mom of a little hockey nut who started watching hockey in 2008. I love the pace of the game, the rough and tumble hits and fights, and, of course, the good looking and talented players.

Well Lonnie… McDonald was given credit for an assist on the goal. You nailed it.
