October Charity Wrap Up
The Blues have started off the season a bit shaky as a team, but their effort for charities has been going strong in the month of October.
The Blues started the season off with bracelet sales for the Love for Lokomotiv effort with custom L4L bracelets to honor Demitra and Korolev. This effort is raising money in support of the families who lost loved ones in the September 7 plane crash that killed the entire Lokomotiv KHL team. According to the Blues site, these sales raised more than $33,000 on opening night. The bracelets are still available at the True Blue Authentic Team Store if you missed out on the opportunity to show your support.
The Blues also held their annual Pink at the Rink event for Hockey Fights Cancer Month. According to the Blues Twitter account, this night raised more than $13,500 for the St. Louis Komen for the Cure. The Blues are continuing to fight breast cancer with their efforts to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In total this year, the Blues have now raised $93,500 for the cause between Pink at the Rink and Race for the Cure.
The Blues have also hosted silent auctions, Bump 50/50 Raffles, and an opening night puck sale for the 14 Fund.
The season is still young, yet the Blues have already made a big difference in the community. Look for the Blues to continue to support the community throughout the season.
