Bluenotes: Per John Kelly Perron Passes Baseline, Arnott Has Eye Surgery, Payne on NHL Live
Bluenotes is a (sometimes) daily dose of news and views from around St. Louis Blues nation and the NHL beyond.

The news keeps on getting better for David Perron.
Per a tweet from Blues TV play by play voice John Kelly, Perry has passed his baseline test.
Now begins the process of getting back in to game shape. There is no ETA date to look forward to. At least not yet. Sorry for being repetitious, but throttle back the excitement just a little and realize that there are still miles to go in Perron’s journey back to the lineup. It’s going to take more than a few days. It could be weeks, maybe even months, till he is ready to suit up in a bluenote and that’s assuming no set back whammies.
In other news regarding Blues forwards…
Summer free agent acquisition Jason Arnott is the first “injury” causality of the 2011-12 season.
He had a successful surgery on Wednesday to remove a cataract from his right eye and is expected to be out of commission for seven days. The home opener is drawing ever closer on October 8th, but Arnott should be ready to return by then. Sorry Evgeny Grachev, your window isn’t opening that much. But he should see more icetime in the final two preseason games as a result.
Please, feel free to leave any old man jokes in the comments section.
One last tidbit.
For those who didn’t get to see or hear head coach Davis Payne when he appeared on NHL Live earlier this week, here you go:
