2011-2012 Season “Soon The Lamp Will Be Lit”

That is right blues fans, the time to wait will soon be behind us. The dawn of a new season is almost with in reach here in St. Louis. It has been a very long and painful off-season for this blues fan.  Dave Checketts spinning another tail promising to have the team sale finalized prior to the start of the new season has left the bulk of fans waiting on bended knee. Will the team have a new owner and a firm/solid cash flow? No solid evidence has come through the pipe in recent days to suggest that the deal will be done anytime in the near future. Could there be a surprise announcement soon? Sure there could be, but I for one will just sit back, sip my beer, and wait for it to actually happen.  Recently informal skates have started at the St. Louis Mills ice complex with players trickling in day by day. New faces, Old faces, and familiar faces lacing up the skates to take a whirl around the frozen indoor pond.  Each day I read about fans flocking to the complex to get a glimpse of the boys getting it warmed up for this years long haul to Lord Stanley’s Cup and I can’t help but get excited. Training camp is ready to get fired up and Traverse City rookie games start this weekend. Blues fans… It is time… get your gear ready…. prepare your goal scored cheers…. Let’s do what we have set out to do since 1967 and bring home the illustrious Silver Goblet that so many covet. Give me a LET’S GO BLUES and do a little dance as those goal lamps light up with the first goal of the season! Are you read? I sure am!!!!
