Follow the BlueNoteZone and Help Komen Raise Money for a Cure

It’s truly amazing what one person or a group can accomplish with the help of two social networking giants like Facebook and Twitter. The BlueNoteZone hopes to take advantage of the growing trend by adding some followers from all across St. Louis Blues Nation and the NHL at large to help raise money to find a cure for breast cancer.

What’s the plan?

Well, many Blue Bleeders already know about our Komen Race for the Cure Blues “Sub Team”. After signing up with the Blues Official Team, contact Kelly Quirin at kmquirin@gmail.com and let her know you will be joining our Sub Team. Please use BNZ Komen in the Subject Line. Once signed up, your $15 additional donation gets you a special BNZ Sub Team T-Shirt. All proceeds from the shirt sales will go back to Komen.

To drum up more positive PR for our little team, we have three additional shirts that we want to giveaway to our followers and supporters. A free shirt to you Blues fans and money back to a worthy cause. Assuming we hit some benchmarks for number of followers on Twitter, Likes on Facebook and number of people signed up for the Sub Team.

The nitty gritty…

Twitter: Reach 750 Followers on @BlueNoteZone by May 1st. We are currently at 588. One Sub Team shirt will be given to a Twitter follower selected at random. The shirt cost will be donated to Komen.

Facebook: Reach 300 “likes” on our BlueNoteZone Facebook page. We are currently at 222 “Likes”. One Sub Team shirt will be given to a Facebook follower selected at random. The shirt cost will be donated to Komen.

Sub Team: Have 25 participants in the Sub Team. We currently have 10. One Sub Team T-Shirt will be taken around at Komen to have as many Blues players at the event sign the shirt as possible. That shirt will then be given to either a Twitter follower, Facebook follower, or a Sub Team Member by a drawing at random.

The deadline to enter, meaning by that date you need to be a Tweep, Like us on Facebook or sign up for the team, is May 1st. At that point we will have our pool to draw from. No, you do not have to be in St. Louis or nearby to win. We’re willing to ship.

Breast cancer and cancer in general affects virtually every family in America. It’s hit my family hard. We want to give back as much as we can and ask that you help us so that some day your own mother, daughter, wife, sister, cousin and friends may be able to beat cancer, or never even get it to begin with.
