Welcome Back, TJ Oshie
Some quick and dirty FYIs and N2Ks regarding the TJ Oshie announcement today. Why the quick and dirty? Who needs fluff when Blue Bleeders really need details…
- A presser was held with to discuss the reevaluation and resolution of Oshie’s punishment for missing a practice earlier in the week.
- TJ practiced with the team today and met with his teammates (and management) prior to.
- He will return to the lineup for Friday’s game against the Calgary Flames at Scottrade.
- Both Doug Armstrong and Oshie feel they’re ready to move on and understand the seriousness of the situation.
- Oshie feels like he shouldn’t have been paid for the time off, so his his checks from Tuesday and Wednesday are going to the 14 Fund. Friday’s pay is going to the Dream Factory.
My Two Bits
They, Oshie and Armstrong, didn’t address the actual situation and what transpired leading up to the “missing practice”.
Should they? No.
What happens between and employer and an employee is a private business matter. Would it be nice to know? Sure. In gossip’s golden age, “everyone” wants to know everything. Well, maybe I’m old fashioned, but count me out.
Unlike those “fans” out there who live to rag on the organization, I actually have a measured level of trust in those running the show down at 14th and Clark. If Army says TJ is good to go, TJ is good to go.
Let it be at that folks. Everyone makes mistakes. What matters is not making it, but how someone recovers and alters their actions going forward. Time can only tell, so best to be patient.
