Here at the BlueNoteZone, we will be signing up for Race for the Cure under the Blues/FSMW team. However, we are also forming a BNZ sub-team to raise some extra money for Komen and to get our staff and readers together on race day. We will be getting shirts, and we plan on meeting at the Blues Team Area @ Scottrade to walk the race together.
To Register for Race for the Cure, click on the link on the Blues Website and follow the instructions (The Pink Join Team Link will get you where you need to go once directed away from the Blues site). Most of us are planning to do the “Fun Walk”- and depending on that day, we may only do the 1 mile route offered instead of the full 5K (I’ll be 3 weeks post-op on major surgery, and I don’t know if I’ll be up for more than a mile that day- or if my 3 year old will be!). If you’re a runner, feel free to register to run and we will see you at the finish line!
The shirts will be gray with a blue BNZ logo and pink ribbon with a hockey stick on the front; the backs will have the BlueNoteZone website & “St. Louis Blues Views: For Fans, By Fans”. The design should be ready in a week or two, and we will get it posted as soon as it is done.
Shirts will be $15, and ALL proceeds from the shirts (at least $4 per shirt) will go back to Komen.
If you are interested in joining the sub-team, please email Kelly at kmquirin@gmail.com with BNZ Komen in the subject line. The deadline to join the sub-team and get a shirt will be May 1st, and we are asking to get payment for shirts (either via mail or at a game meetup) before May 5th.
