Q’s Cuties: Blues vs Blackhawks 2-21
Welcome to today’s cutie watch! After all of the drama surrounding the Johnson/McClement trade, the Blues blew the Ducks out of the water on Saturday night. 9-3 is a mighty victory- and I must say I was glad to see Ben Bishop get some ice time (and perform excellently!). Today the Blues take on the Blackhawks…. Can they continue with the energy we saw on Saturday? Here’s who my eye will be on:
Chris Stewart #25: This cutie may have been featured as a terror for the Blues when we played the Avalanche, but Stewart proved he can do just as much damage for the Blues as against them in his first game Saturday. Stewart had 2 goals for St. Louis against the Ducks- both on the power play. This takes him up to 32 points so far this season. Now that the first game jitters have worn off, will we continue to see Stewart producing points? Hopefully. Watch for this cutie to stay on the Backes/McDonald to try to make a “powerhouse” first line for the guys in Blue.
Blackhawks Cutie to Watch: The Hawks currently stand 3 points ahead of the Blues. Every game the Blues play until the end of the season is going to feel “make or break” with the close standings in the West. So far this season, the Blues & Hawks have split their 4 games. The Blackhawks have won just 2 of their last 6 road games, and only 4 games total this month. Here’s who I’ll be watching today:
Patrick Sharp #10, Left Wing: This cutie is currently the cover boy for the Chicago magazine. Although he is tied in first for points on his team, Sharp has significantly more goals (31) than the players in second for the team (Toes & Kane with 19). I found picking Sharp tonight fitting since he is being celebrated for being one of the “50 Most Beautiful Chicagoans” and he is the only consistent scorer for the Hawks. Watch for this cutie (or “beauty”) to be looking to extend his 2 game point streak- he has 4 points in his last 2 games.
