Sound Off! Discuss the Erik Johnson Trade
Well St. Louis Blues fans, it happened. Doug Armstrong has proven that the re-building era is over. Moving out the one time franchise cornerstone and the top selection in the 2006 NHL Draft, Erik Johnson. Sending him to the Colorado Avalanche along with Forward Jay McClement and their 2011 1st round pick for Forward Chris Stewart, Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk and the Avs 2nd round pick in the 2011 draft.
Let’s hear it! What say you blue bleeders? Comment away. Rant, vent, cry, complain, moan and groan. Let it all out. Tell me what you’re thinking. Need that puckhead input!

had to do something. don’t know anything about the players we got but we had to do something and petro is better then johnson anyway so the hell with it
As a life long Blues fan, I have to say that yesterday was the craziest day I can remember in a long time. First, there is no love loss for me on the Brewer trade. At first I was pissed that they traded him for seemingly nothing, but at least we got something for him instead of nothing.
The Johnson/McClement trade was a little tougher to swallow. First reaction, speechless. If Johnson can be traded, then who is safe. But in the end it does make sense even though it’s hard to see a fan favorite go. But then again we have been there done that. We obviously need help up front and we had the D depth to go find it. We have great young defensemen in Peoria that have, on rented basis, proven they are improving and can handle this level of play.
Overall, I think that Army is making his mark on this team and he is doing a good job. I hated to see Johnson and McClement go, but that is the game. In the end it’s a sport. Players come and go. We got over Shanahan, Pronger and others leaving. We will get over this too. We shall see what happens in the future. Army either just made a great move or he will forever not be forgiven by the Bluenote fans.
