Monday Sound Off! Down, But Not Out!
Tonight the St. Louis Blues take on the Vancouver Canucks. Thanks to Versus those fans without Center Ice (or GameCenter I suppose) will miss this crucial matchup.
Sound off here Blue Bleeders. Tells us what you think about these Blues issues:
- The lack of resolution in the ownership issue.
- Do they sell? If so, who goes?
- Halak: Growing pains or overrated?
- What do you want to tell Versus to do with their Blackouts?
- What is your honest opinion of the Cabuckleheads?
- The Sedins are…

I’ve sounded off about this a number of times, but we really need to look at what Corey Hirsch is doing with Jaro. He’s looked uncomfortable in the last few months and I’m wondering whether or not, his lights-out play at the beginning was a little to do with him playing in his natural style?
I’m not adverse to him learning to play to his crease, as in the Calgary broadcast footage, but come on! Calgary was virtually halfway through the season! Do we really expect or in fact deserve the fact that Hirsch has only just spotted the problem? What happened to watching film on players and analysing their weaknesses. Jaro’s glove side weakness was ruthlessly exposed by the Wild in the shootout. Was that just coincidence? Or did the Wild know that Jaro was weak there and on the five-hole?
I believe Halak will be our #1 for a long while, HOWEVER he needs some protecting and taking out the firing line. Look at Carey Price, he took 2 or so seasons to come to fruition and I believe Jaro will require it too.
As for trade news. I think we should resign Conks for another season as a quality backup to Jaro and dangle Bergs to the open market. Thinking is that Bergs really hasn’t capitalised on his potential and I think a change of scenery would be perfect for him. The fact that he’s got hot recently with Oshie back in means his trade value will have spiked and now is the time to sell!
