Annual Blues Blood Drive

I got my postcard today from the American Red Cross announcing the Annual St. Louis Blues Blood Drive, which will be held on January 17, 2011.  Anyone who attempts to give will get a “specially designed” Blues blood drive shirt.  (Don’t forget a photo id and your donor card if you have one)  There will also be chances to win attendance prizes.  Last year, Carlo Colaiacovo and Louie were on hand at one location to give support to those giving blood.  According to the Blues site, “the 2010 Blood Drive collected 441 units of blood, which is enough blood to help save up to 1,323 lives.”

Giving 1 pint of blood can save up to 3 lives.  It doesn’t take long, and there aren’t many side effects.  After being processed, blood donations are given to accident victims, cancer patients, people having surgery, and many others.  For more information on giving blood, how the blood is used, and the Blues Blood Drive, visit redcrossblood.org (Code BLUES) or call 1-800-REDCROSS.  Click here to make an appointment online! (More info to come on if players will make appearances this year as it is available)

I'm a stay at home mom of a little hockey nut who started watching hockey in 2008. I love the pace of the game, the rough and tumble hits and fights, and, of course, the good looking and talented players.
