Q’s Cuties: Blues @ Rangers 11-7
Welcome to tonight’s cutie watch! Last night’s featured cuties were great to watch! Halak once again was outstanding in the net for the Blues, allowing only one goal. Nathan Horton looked great for the Bruins; he had tons of bad luck in the game last night when he had 2 goals that were called back on replay. Bad luck for him, but he looked amazing on the ice.
Last night made the sixth win in a row for the Blues, and increased their road record to 3-2. The Blues power play is still suffering, but they seem to be dealing with the numerous injuries well. Nikita Nikitin played well in his first game this season, and the blue line seems to be holding its own despite the fact that the faces on defense seem to change on a nightly basis. Tonight, the Blues are looking to increase their winning streak to 7 games and get another win on htier three game road trip.
Here’s who my eye will be on tonight:
TJ Oshie #74: Did you see Oshie’s two big hits in Boston? If not, you definitely missed out! Tonight’s featured cutie was a powerhouse against the Bruins; he knocked Zdeno Chara, who stands 6′ 9″, off his feet. Oshie also scored in the shootout with Boyes to get a win for the Blues. While TJ may not be scoring goals, he only has 1 so far this season, he is leading the team in points. This cutie has proved he can be physical and make big hits, but he had been developing great chemistry on the ice with Perron and may need to re-think his offensive game if Perron is out for an extended period of time. Keep your eye on tonight’s Featured Cutie in New York, you may get to see another big hit that gets Blues fans on their feet. Lets see who gets “Oshied” tonight.
Rangers Cutie to Watch: The Rangers are coming off a 3- win over the Devils on Friday night. The Rangers have been great on the road so far this season, but they have only won 2 of their first 6 home games. The Rangers are looking to bring the energy from their road games back home to increase their record, and they are hoping to squash the momentum the Blues have going tonight.
Here is who I’ll be watching tonight:
Marc Staal #18, Defense: I’ll admit, the main reason I’m watching this cutie is because he is a Staal. This cutie is the only Staal who has been drafted by the NHL who plays defense. So far this season, Staal has 2 goals, one being a game winning goal, and 2 assists. He has earned one power play point with these points. Staal also has 17 hits, 18 blocks, and 12 penalty minutes in his 13 games; Blues fans can expect this cutie to have a physical game along with being able to produce in front of the net. Hopefully for Blues fans Stall and the rest of the Rangers won’t start producing great numbers at home tonight.
