Ten Questions About the 2010-11 St. Louis Blues, Part 4
Earlier this summer the BlueNoteZone Staff was asked to answer 10 questions regarding the 2010-11 St. Louis Blues. Here are their answers.
Question 4. Where do the Blues finish? West and Central
Jeff Quirin: Assuming good health, consistent effort (at home…) and a stable Halak, they will finish 5th. If those three areas slip, they can fall to anywhere around 11th or 12th. In the Central they’ll finish up 3rd unless Nashville improves their special teams, then they’ll take 4th again. My gut feeling is 5th in West and 3rd in Central.
Randall Ritchey: I believe that the Blues will finish around the 5th or 6th spot, while sitting second in the Central. Chicago in my opinion has just fallen to far since last year. Their D is worse, their forward core is worse, and Turco and Crawford just aren’t going to cut it in my opinion. They finish in the 7th or 8th spot.
Tyler Atwood: 6th in the West, 2nd in the division behind Nashville. The two teams with the best farm systems in the Central finally rise to the top, if only for one season (although this may be an indication of the future).
Stephanie Phillips: In the West, I see the Blues finishing 6th or 7th. In the Central, 2nd or 3rd.
Kelly Quirin: West: 7th, Central: 3rd or 4th.
Question 3. Who leads the team in goals and in points?
Jeff Quirin: Points belongs to David Perron. Coming in to his own as a 4th year professional he steps up and takes time and points from Boyes. Goals is a battle between TJ Oshie and Andy McDonald. If I had more confidence in Alex Steen playing in a top 6 role at even strength instead of a top 9 role, he could contend for both.
Tyler Atwood: Brad Boyes for goals, Andy McDonald for points because he will be assisting on many of Boyes’ goals. Boyes needs to bounce back, and will in a big way. And we all know the skill set McDonald possesses.
Stephanie Phillips: Alex Steen or Andy McDonald will probably have this category.
Kelly Quirin: Goals: Perron Points: Steen
