2010-11 NHL Standings & Awards
No statistical analysis here. Just pure unadulterated postulating for the sake of postulating. Here are my top picks for award winners and winning teams come the 2010-11 NHL season’s end.
Stanley Cup Champion
1. Pittsburgh Penguins
- The team with the deepest core on defense and a previous Cup winner in net wanting to redeem his substandard performance from a season ago.
2. Vancouver Canucks
- The team with an amazing core finally gets it right, beating a degraded Blackhawks squad in the playoffs.
3. Detroit Red Wings
- The wily evil empire returns to glory and dispatches the West with ease.

I like the predictions. I would be thrilled if Oshie got some recognition for the Selke .
Your Eastern Conf. predictions are interesting — different than most that I’ve seen. I’m surprised to see both Montreal and Ottawa on their. Most have either or. It’s hard not to like Tampa’s potential, but I like the fact that you’ve grounded them a bit. As Blues fans we all know how expectations (or a team on paper) can turn out.
