You may be looking at the title of this post and wondering where the heck this post is coming from.
Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Kelly Quirin; I am a stay-at-home-mom of a 2 1/2 year old girl who LOVES the Blues and the wife of Jeff here at BNZ. Unlike some of the other writers here, I didn’t grow up watching hockey. I fell in love with this sport 2 seasons ago, and when I like something I usually go all out. During the last All Star Break my friends started noticing a trend: I like good looking hockey players. I thought this point of view would bring a lighthearted note to the BNZ, and would stay true to what “label” I have earned from my friends. Watch for my Staal brother obsession to make it’s way to my feature- I get teased for it, but I am a huge fan of all three (four when Jared finally makes it into the NHL) brothers (Eric may have finally beaten Jordan out for my favorite!). Other than hockey, I have a passion for cancer research and community service. As an author you can expect to see a game time blog about which “Cutie” I am keeping my eye on that women may want to watch, but this player will also be talented. Also, watch for updates on Blues players in the community and fund-raising efforts of the team.
Blues vs Avalance 9-21
In this preseason game, the Blues will be showing off their Blue Team. This team includes a couple of home-town cuties that I’ll be sure to keep my eyes on tonight:
T.J. Oshie #74: TJ is St. Louis’ “Golden Boy”- enough said. We met T.J. in August 2008, and I have been a fan of this cutie ever since.
Alex Pietrangelo #27: I’ve had my eye on Petro for awhile, and I was hoping he would find his way onto the team last year. Keep your eye on this defenseman- in his 8 games with the Blues last season he scored his first NHL goal. He has grown up a bit since last season, and if he doesn’t claim a spot on the team expect him to be a huge part of the Rivermen.
Anthony Peluso #59: This is the prospect that caught my eye at the Blue-Gold Scrimmage game. Good looking, and seemed to have potential. If you’re looking for a good looking prospect to keep an eye on, this young man is my pick.
Avalanche Cutie to Watch: Kyle Quincey #27, Defense: This cutie was good enough to make it on my fantasy team this year. Look for him on the power-play; last year he was on the Av’s top power-play pairing. According to the ESPN Fantasy stats, Kyle is expected to have another 30 plus point season…. let’s just hope those those points don’t start tonight against our Bluenotes!
Fundraier and Community Outreach Season Preview:
For those non-season ticket holders, if you are looking to get tickets to see your favorite team and help the community at the same time check into getting tickets to the games where the Blues will be giving something back to the community.
October 23 vs Pittsburgh: Pink at the Rink
October 30 vs Atlanta: Halloween Puck Patch for Kids with Cancer
November 11 vs Nashville: Salute to Military Night
November 20 vs New Jersey: McDonald’s Stick Night
December 11 vs Carolina and December 18 vs San Jose: Toys for Tots and Festival of Trees
January 22 vs Columbus: Barkin’ for the Blues
February 4 vs Edmonton and February 11 vs Minnesota: Be My Valentine Stick Auction
March 12 vs Detroit: Luck of the Puck
March 24 vs Edmonton: KidSmart School Supply Drive
I’ll be featuring each of these nights as more information becomes available from the Blues. St. Louis is our town- make sure your do your part to give back to the community, and an easy way to do that is if you choose to do it while supporting the Blues.

Great first post here Kelly. Good to have you posting along with us!
