Tarasenko KHL Extension?
D. Chesnokov of Yahoo Sports Puck Daddy blog reports via Twitter that Blues 2010 1st Round pick Vladimir Tarasenko is close to signing an extension on his KHL contract. Chesnokov was not able to confirm the report.
Keep that in mind. This is not a confirmed deal….yet, at least.
While the rumored buyout clause hasn’t been confirmed, the Blues feel as they will not have a problem bringing Tarasenko over for the 2011-12 NHL season.
At this time the extension is likely an insurance policy should his desire to cross the Atlantic grow cold.
Keep an eye on this Blues fans. Tarasenko is a legit offensive prospect rivaling Hall and Seguin. He needs to find his way over the ocean and in a Blues sweater.

Update @ 4:20pm
Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post Dispatch tweeted that Tarasenko might be singing a one-year KHL contract to replace his current two-year contract.
If JR is correct, that is excellent news.

Update #2
No confirmation from the media or the Blues on the situation yet. Consensus seems to be that the Blues are not concerned and it looks like his two-year KHL contract is being reworked.
Step back from the ledge.
