Wednesday Bluenotes: Q&A #2 & Kovy News
What an interesting 48 hours. In that time frame Ilya Kovalchuk signed a 17 year, $102 million contract with the New Jersey Devils and the NHL rejected it. An odd time to finally take a stand on cap circumventing contracts, but the NHL finally did it.
I still question Ilya’s statement that “this wasn’t about money”. The Devils are on the tail end of their Cup contending window and LA is on the rise in the better of the two conferences. If this was about long term winning and the notoriety that comes with it, he would be in LA.
Back to the Blues.
David Perron signed a two year, $4.3 million contract today. Great deal fit the Blues. I have info up here and on www.hockeyindependent.com.
