Mason on Standby

Mason has a, 18-17-8 record while posting 2.59 GAA and .910 Save % this season. Last season with the Blues Mason was 27-21-7 with a .2.41 GAA and .916 Save %
According to Kevin Allen of USA Today (@kausatoday on Twitter), Blues netminder Chris Mason has been tapped as Team Canada’s “standby” Goalie for the Olympics. Apparently some speculation pointed to struggling sophomore Steve Mason of the Columbus Blue Jackets, however that doesn’t appear to be the case.
The Red Deer, Alberta native is 33 years old and a seven year veteran of the NHL.
Kudos to you Mase! Here’s to hoping you get the call.
The Goalies currently on Team Canada’s roster are Martin Brodeur, Roberto Luongo, and Marc-Andre Fluery.

It’s not likely he’ll get the call, but I’m sure he’s honored just to be in the conversation. This would probably be his last opportunity to play in a big worldwide hockey tournament of any sort for Team Canada. Big-ups to the skull-bearded one!
