You see, one had him ranked 4. Another had him 10. Another had him 19.

People rank prospects differently. To me, he's been a part of that group of prospects. The big defensemen of that draft, I had Myers going higher than Schenn. I used NHL central scouting because I'm obviously not the only one who view it that way.

Everyone has thier way of viewing it, that was just mine.
Thank you for the feedback!

Randall, CSB is your only scouting source? They're the only one's that had them ranked like that. Averaging all of the major scouting services, they were ranked in order of Doughty, Bogo, Petro, Schenn and a ways down, Myers - exactly how they all ended up being drafted. Here are some other 2008 rankings.

ISS had them 2. Bogo, 4. Doughty, 5. Petro, 6. Schenn, 15. Myers http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=11183

TSN had them 2. Doughty, 3. Bogo, 4. Petro, 6. Schenn, 11. Myers
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=11437

Redline had them 3. Doughty, 4. Bogo, 6. Petro, 7. Schenn, 10. Myers

nice story about Allen there too.

THN had them 2. Doughty, 3. Bogo, 5. Petro, 6. Schenn, 11. Myers

McKeens had them 2. Bogo, 3. Petro, 4. Doughty, 5. Schenn, 19. Myers

Ryan, I thank you for the reply.
How I missed Petro's mono is beyond me, but I was right at the time that Myers was ranked higher than Petro going into the draft.

Obviously not by the Blues, but by NHL central scouting, I'll provide the link to their final rankings, Myers was ranked 4th over both Schenn and Pietrangelo for North American skaters. Going into the draft, I had the five defensemen ranked Doughty Pietrangelo, Bogosian, Myers, and Schenn.

Most everyone's rankings were different, its all about how a scout sees a players future.

NHL central scouting link ;

"Next up was the St. Louis Blues. Out of the big five, only three were left. Tyler Myers, Luke Schenn and Alex Pietrangelo. Coming into the draft, they were rated in that order. Pietrangelo being the lowest ranked of the defensemen."

That's not true at all...and it was really only the "big four" as Myers wasn't really considered to be in the same class as the other 4 at the time...although he is now. The general concensus had them ranked: Doughty, Bogosian, Pietrangelo, Schenn and then a ways down the list, Myers. Some scouts had Schenn and Pietrangelo flip-flopped since there were concerns about Petro's mono/burst spleen (why no mention of this in the article?) but for the most part, they were drafted in the order most scouting services had them ranked.
