Lars Eller was drafted 13th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2007 NHL entry draft. He was the highest ever drafted Dane until a year later when fellow Dane, Mikkel Boedker was drafted 8th overall by the Phoenix Coyotes.

Eller played the last two seasons with Frolunda HC of the Swedish Elite League. He decided to make the jump from Europe to North America this season and though he looked to make the team out of camp, he was sent to Peoria just days after returning from injury.

The Rodovre, Denmark native will be only the sixth Danish player to play a game in the National Hockey League.
